‘Mourning Room (installation)’ provides a private space in a public sphere to give room to sorrows of all kinds. The installation centers around a karaoke box offering songs and props to slip into, for users to test shared protocols of mourning and rehearse their own. They may sing, scream, cry, dance, listen, lament, lip sync, be silent – whatever the path for grief in its many forms to find relief.
The Installation can only be entered by one person at a time.
Performed by Isabelle Richter, construction and tech-support by Dylan Spencer-Davidson.

‘License Free Chorus Line’ (performance)
“That means ‘no’ where I come from”. Licence Free Chorus Line is the third and final part of ‘motorcycle diaries’, a series of performances by Ivan Cheng reflecting on revolution as cultural object that took place around Germany in the fall of 2022. For Rostock, a text about memory, protest and belief has been written for Martha Hasselberg and Luis Kröplin, two local young performers. Staged by Cheng at the Peter Weiss Haus, it is presented within a largely unaccompanied medley of alternative hits from the last decades. The performers wear garments by Good and Bad (Marina M. Kolushova, Victor Stuhlmann, Ossi Lehtonen).

‘She-Pigeon’ (performance)
The bible often describes the Holy Spirit as descending on earth in the bodily form of a dove. The dirty pigeon—the nature of the city, the one whom nobody loves— was once a dove too. But humans domesticated the pigeon, and built their filthy empire around it. Later they came to hate the pigeon for thriving in the midst of their decay. They hated it for not dying. Contemplating on the politics of disgust, exclusion, and pollutability, Selin Davasse speaks in the voice of a dirty pigeon with a cooing cunt, filmed from a bird’s eye perspective in Rostock’s famed Nikolaikirche. Libidinous leaky literature in vivid and vulgar vulviform verse rains down like pigeon droppings. Tunes from the church organ mix with the voices of pigeons thriving against all odds. You might feel holy or dirty after watching this video. A pigeon could love you no matter how dirty, no matter how holy. Now could you love her back?

‘METABO’ (pole video music performance)
Musician and visual artist Apex Anima travels through the unconscious lands of the networked hive mind, exploring the utopian and dystopian manifestations of the digital present. After a long journey through bytes and pixels, nauseated by the darker sides of our collective psyche, she starts yearning for flesh, for a body, a heartbeat. She encounters pole performer FRZNTE, whose fusion of tech-noir aesthetics and human empowerment, becomes a physical vessel for her wildest artifical dreams.
