A repertory theatre alternates and repeats work from its repertoire. The rate of recurrence does not always demonstrate a clear logic. Across the feeds of social media, there is no formula evident for algorithmic repetition. ROCHAMBEAU (STUDY #3) revisits the leaping structure of a contemporary readymade from ROCHAMBEAU (STUDY #2), opening up questions of sustainability in practice, attempts to engage different audiences, and the torsion of material across different platforms.
ROCHAMBEAU was first developed in 2017 in a 12 day research period at UFERSTUDIOS, Berlin. With set & costume – MARTE EKNÆS + NICOLAU VERGUEIRO, video – THILO SCHMIDT, performers – JAN ANDREESEN, IVAN CHENG, LYNSEY PEISINGER, VIKTORIYA MUHAMEJANOVA, FRANK WILLENS, directed by TILMAN HECKER.
